CONNECT

For the past several years our Family Ministry leaders have been helping us explore new ways of being a multi-generational community of faith. CONNECT nights bring together all ages.

CONNECT: Discipleship Opportunity – Fruits of the Spirit Discussion – Room 24
Fall of 2016 – Spring 2017, 6:30pm, after Pizza Night on the third Wednesday of each month

You are invited to join an opportunity for discipleship this program year. Members of AACRC will lead us through Philip Kenneson’s book, Life on The Vine: Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit in Christian Community.

In this book Kenneson uses the the Fruit of the Spirit that is found in Galatians 5:22-23 to demonstrate living the way of Jesus in our personal lives as well as in community of faith.

During each session, each leader will facilitate a conversation on a particular “fruit” and its importance for us today.

The sessions will begin at 6:30 pm and run until 8 pm. Reading the book is not necessary to come to the sessions, just come with an open mind ready to learn and grow.

September 21, 2016 – Gentleness

CONNECT Events in 2015-2016

– In December we enjoyed sharing a Chili Supper followed by a Carol Sing, hearing voices young and old request their favorite hymns.
– On Ash Wednesday we gathered for a Soup Supper followed by a family-oriented worship, where young and old received crosses on their foreheads, remembering our faith story.
– Pastor Ryan led a group through “Telling God’s Story: A Parent’s Guide to Teaching the Bible” by Peter Enns, a book that gives not just parents, but grandparents, friends, or parishioners who have made covenantal promises to children a way to speak of the beauty and the truth of God’s word to children in a way that is developmentally appropriate and has biblical integrity.
