WORSHIP
OUR CENTER AND OUR WAY OF LIFE
We gather together every week on Sunday morning to encounter the Triune God of Grace. All are welcome in this worship space where we are invited to come as we are, for Christ welcomes all.
Advent 2024
Deep in our hearts, most of us agree with the advertisers: Christmas means thousands of shimmering lights, banks of scented red candles, and the shining eyes and flushed faces of wonder-filled children. Christmas means a general attitude of "good cheer," and an aura of serenity, stillness, and peace on earth. In short, a “good Christmas” is one hermetically sealed off from anything sad or unsettling. But there’s a reason Christmas requires Advent: for the good news to be truly good, it needs to come to the real world—a world that does not stop being harsh, evil, and dark just because it's Christmas. In fact, it's precisely that harsh, evil darkness that properly reminds us why a Savior needed to "advent" into our time and space in the first place. Join us this Advent as we explore the Hope, Joy, Love and Peace of Advent as we wait for Jesus—the Savior of the World.

What should I expect?
Scripture at Center
You’ll find the preaching of the Word at the center of every worship service at AACRC. This is because we believe that scripture points us to Jesus, and Jesus is the center of all that God has done, is doing, and will do—and for us, that’s the center.
Weekly Lord’s Supper
Because Jesus is at center, we also celebrate the Lord’s Supper every time we gather. The reason for this is simple: as John Calvin said, Scripture and Sacrament both hold forth the same Christ.
Rich and Varied Music
At AACRC, we like to say that each of us has a musical “heart language.” For some of us, that heart language is classic organ-led hymns. For others, it’s engaging worship team-led songs. This is more than “blended” worship—it’s an intention, not just a concession.
Dress Code Optional
You’re probably wondering what you should wear. The short answer is: you should wear what feels right to you. Chances are—whether you’re wearing shorts or a suit—there will be others wearing the same thing. God welcomes us as we are, so we welcome each other as we are.
It’s For the Kids
Children are people too! Nursery care is available during worship for children under 3 years old. Children’s Worship is available for children 3-5 years old after the children’s message. Faith formation for ages 5-grade 12 is before worship (September-May). Large and small group faith formation opportunities for adults are offered during this time as well.
Now Streaming
While the best way by far is to join in person, we know that’s not possible for everyone. So we stream our services on YouTube every week. You can find this week’s service below, or just go to our YouTube channel to subscribe or watch other video content from Ann Arbor CRC.
We’d love to welcome you!
Join us any Sunday at 10:30am for worship, or contact us for more opportunities.
