At Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church, we are creating a community that embodies the love that Jesus taught us. We want to make room for you, welcome you, and share life with you. We see our world as being renewed through God’s Spirit, and we hear and respond to God’s call for the restoration and renewal of all things. Together we are transformed by the love of Christ and forever changed by his grace.
On Sunday mornings we worship together at 9:30 am. Starting September 8, 2019 our worship time moves to 10:30 am. We’d love to see you there. From September through May, Sunday faith formation for all ages happens at 9:15 am.
Where are we located? 1717 Broadway, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. We are just up the hill off Plymouth Road, near the North Campus of the University of Michigan.
Parking? We have parking at our building. In the unlikely event that our lot is full overflow parking can be found behind the U of M music school building up the hill from us, left on Baits, left on Gilbert Court just past the brick building , and left into the parking lot.
What to wear? We are a mixed bunch of families, singles, students, and retired folks. Some of our members dress casually and others dress in dress pants and dresses. Wear whatever is comfortable for you and you will fit right in with our eclectic mix!
What is there for kids? Children and youth are welcome in worship. Partway through worship there is a children’s blessing where youth up to 4th grade are invited forward and sometimes hear a message, but every week say a blessing. After the blessing 3 and 4 year-olds leave the sanctuary for their own faith-focused, age-appropriate activities. From September through May, our faith formation hour for ages 5-grade 12 begins at 9:15 am. (Large and small group faith formation opportunities for adults are offered during this time as well)
What will happen in worship? We gather together every week to encounter the Triune God of Grace. All are welcome into this worship space, where we are invited to come as we are, for Christ welcomes all. We give thanks to God in song, prayer, and word. We hear and participate in the story of God’s love. We gather around the table to celebrate the Eucharist. This is the meal Jesus gave as a sign that, just as he loved the world and gave himself for it, now we also give ourselves for the healing of the world.
If you visit us on a Sunday, please connect with one of our Greeters at the Welcome Center. We’d love to meet you.
Connecting as a covenant community
We are a community founded on the principle that every person is created in God’s image and thereby endowed with inherently equal worth. In this context, we commit to a covenant of fidelity to each other. We think healing, love, and care happen best in community relationships and would love to connect with you.
Is English your second language? Every Fall we offer Tuesday Tutoring with Conversational English, American Culture, and ESL for you and your children. There are also ongoing opportunities for one-on-one Bible studies and connections. For women, whether or not English is your first language, there is Coffee Break which meets on Tuesdays.
Our community is committed to walking with one another in our faith journey. Our House Groups provide a space for praying and studying with a small group of committed Jesus-followers and seekers. If you are a grad student or young professional, you might enjoy a Tuesday night dinner at the Lindquists or Soup Group every other Sunday at noon (September to May). We also have seasonal opportunities for service that include the Habitat for Humanity House of Faith build, Rotating Shelter, and hosting the summer SERVE experience for middle-schoolers.
Thanks for considering Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church and we look forward to seeing you soon!
