In-Person Worship and Programs Canceled

As we do our part in slowing the spread of the Covid-19 virus and keeping the most vulnerable among us safe, all in-person church ministries, programs, and building use are canceled until further notice.

However, we are still the AACRC, even though we’re in the middle of a serious pivot. While ministry looks different, we encourage you to please continue to be active in prayer, in tithing, and in keeping in touch with each other. We want to continue to worship together, grow together, and serve together in this season, even though it might look very different! You are invited to stay connected to the ways we can do this by visiting our blog or signing up for our weekly electronic newsletter or visiting our new YouTube channel. Note that staff will continue to pick up the mail and check the phone messages daily.

Flexible, participatory, in-home worship services that center us around Christ will be shared here every week and also in our weekly email.

Grace and peace.

Past Liturgies…

We as Christ’s body can still worship together in spirit. Watch this space for an at-home liturgy and meditation every week.

One of our Sunday rhythms is a time of offering, giving back to God with our time, talents, and resources. Even though we can’t be together, we still rely on your tithes and donations to help our various ministry partners, including Hope Clinic, Hesed Community Church, Friends in Deed, and our missionaries. You can give your tithes and offerings using the My Well Giving app, My Well web-based giving, mailing a check to the church, or setting up recurring donations through your bank’s bill pay.

Holy Week 2020

Holy Week Morning Devotions: Monday-Friday April 6-10, 7 am, Video Gathering via Zoom
While we cannot gather in person this year for Holy Week devotions, the pastors will host Holy Week devotions by video chat at 7am every morning. Look for an email from your elder with the Zoom link.

Maundy Thursday: Thursday, April 9, at-home liturgy
We will be following an at-home liturgy, similar to our Sunday morning services during coronatide. Because of the importance of being physically gathered to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, this year we will focus on Christ’s washing of the disciples’ feet with a Liturgy of Washing.

Good Friday: Friday, April 10, 2:30 pm Facebook live worship (or watch uploaded video later)
We invite you to join us on Friday at 2:30pm on Facebook for a live worship stream to mark the last moments of Christ on the Cross. Through scripture, prayer, and mediation, we will remember and reflect on the crucifixion. The video of the worship will be uploaded so those unable to make it at 2:30pm can watch it later.

Women’s Ministry
Women’s small group Bible studies are scheduled on Monday or Wednesday. We are studying Above and Beyond: Hearing God’s Call in Jonah and Ruth. Check with your leader to find out how your group is connecting virtually during this “Stay at home” order.
House Groups
Winter House Groups started on February 9 to study N.T. Wright’s Simply Jesus together. New members welcome anytime, even while we are connecting virtually. Please join us!
